Flashback Friday: 45 Years Later - 2023 Nissan Z - 1978 Datsun 280Z

 


The 2023 Nissan Z, offered in Sport and Performance grades, is powered by a 400 horsepower 3.0-liter V6 twin turbo engine with a choice of a 6-speed manual or new 9-speed automatic transmission. Standard driver assistance and safety technologies include Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Blind Spot Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, High Beam Assist and Intelligent Forward Collision Warning.

The 12.3-inch TFT meter display has "Normal" mode, "Enhanced" mode pushes the tachometer and speedometer to the edges of the display and "Sport" mode prioritizes the tachometer in the center with shift-up light at the top for shift information in the driver's field of view. The all-new, seventh-generation 2023 Z, went on sale this Summer starting at $41,015 (including $1,025 destination and handling) and can be seen this weekend at the OC Auto Show at the Anaheim Convention Center (next to Disneyland).
